JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to Murray State on Sunday.

The Racers (9-6, 3-0 OVC) remained undefeated in conference play with a tight one-point win over the Gamecocks (10-3, 3-2 OVC) at Oxford.

Murray took the doubles point and won at No. 1 and No. 3, while JSU battled to win at No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 to tie the match 3-3.
Alessia Locati topped Aarja Chakraborty (6-2, 6-3),
Diana Monsalve defeated Sara Loncarevic (6-2, 6-0) and
Alba Conejero downed Jeanne Masson (6-3, 7-6) to even the match up going into the sixth singles match.

The No. 4 singles contest between
Elena Tendero and Anja Loncarevic became the deciding match. Loncarevic won the first set 7-5, but Tendero battled back to take the second set 7-5. In the final set of the day, Loncarevic won the set and the match for Murray State with a 6-2 decision.

The Gamecocks go back to work March 30 with a noon matchup with Eastern Kentucky in Oxford.
