NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Belmont on Friday at Nashville's Centennial Sportsplex.

The Gamecocks (13-4, 3-2 OVC) fell to third place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with the loss, while Belmont (12-10, 5-0 OVC) remained in first and undefeated in league play with the win.

Both of Jacksonville State's points came in singles play.
Pablo Caffarena topped Marko Ilic at No. 2 (6-1, 7-6 (7-2)), while
Paolo Cucalon won at No. 4 over Zak Khan (6-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8)) in three sets.
Joaquin Vallejo forced three sets against Vincent Sterkens at No. 3, but the Bruin won the final set 6-4 to claim the point.

Cucalon and
Aljaz Kaplja claimed the No. 2 doubles set 6-2, but a loss at No. 3 gave the point to Belmont.

The Gamecocks go into the final match of the season Saturday, April 14 in search of a win over Tennessee State. The contest against the Tigers is set for 2 p.m.
