NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a 4-2 win over Tennessee State Saturday at Hadley Park.

The Gamecocks (12-3, 5-1 OVC) topped the Tigers (5-13, 0-7 OVC) to keep their second-place standings in the Ohio Valley Conference. It's the best record for the team since going 8-2 during the 2013 season.

Alba Conejero and
Malin Buechner finished up the regular season with a 6-3 doubles win over Aarushi Kakkar and Morgan Cage at No. 1 to finish out the campaign with a perfect 11-0 tandem record.
Cristina Moll Alles and
Balsen Kaya secured the doubles point with a 6-2 set win at No. 2.

Buechner and Conejero then went on to win their singles matchups with two-set wins. Buechner improved to 11-3, while Conejero pushed her record to a team-leading 12-4.

Senior
Elena Tendero earned a two-set victory (6-3, 6-1) over Claudia Sole at No. 5 to complete the road win for JSU.

The Gamecocks will learn their opponent for the OVC Women's Championships in Nashville follow the conclusion of Monday's remaining conference matches.
