JACKSON, Miss. – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches with a 4-0 win over Jackson State.

The Gamecocks (4-0) routed the Tigers (1-4) on the road in the shortened contest. JSU won the doubles point and three singles point to pick up the victory.

Aljaz Kaplja and
Thomas Norwood at No. 1 and
Guillermo Agost and
Jordi Blanchar at No. 2 won both of their sets 6-2 in doubles.
Dmitrii Vasilev and
Agustin Suarez downed Richy Gamo and Thomas Torres at No. 3 with a 5-2 set win to sweep doubles.

Joaquin Vellojo earned the first singles point with a two-set victory at No. 2 over Game. Vallejo took the sets 6-4 and 6-1. Kaplja nearly matched the scores at No. 3, winning 6-4, 6-3 over Hiromu Ikeda.

Blanchar finished off the Tigers by defeating Agustin Agosto in straight set, 6-0 and 6-2 to warp up the match.

The Gamecocks return to the court Thursday, Feb. 6 to take on Nicholls State in Thibodaux, La. They then travel to New Orleans to square off against New Orleans on Feb. 7. JSU returns home Feb. 27 to host Alabama State.
