JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over Alabama State on Friday, recording its sixth win in a row.

Despite falling in the doubles duels, the Gamecocks (6-1) battled back to win five of the six singles points over the Hornets (3-4).

Trailing 1-0,
Malin Buechner topped Marija Blazevic at No. 2 singles to tie the match. The senior took the two sets 6-2, 6-0 en route to her sixth singles victory of the year.

Cristina Moll Alles remained undefeated at No. 1 with a two-set win over Madalena Andrade to put Jax State up by one.
Marine Alberteau followed up with a two-set win of her own at No. 6 (7-6, 6-2) over Salome Sposetti.

Harriet Hamilton remained undefeated at No. 3 for her six win of the season, downing Urska Velec in a three-set thriller (7-5, 3-6, 7-6).
Alessia Locati closed out scoring for the Gamecocks with another three-set win at No. 5, defeating Vivien Kutacova 1-6, 6-3 and 6-1.

ASU's lone singles win came in two sets over
Balsen Kaya at No. 4, evening the Gamecocks' season record at 3-3.

Next on the schedule for Jacksonville State is a trip to Macon, Ga., to face Mercer on March 4 at 2:30 p.m. The next home match is March 11 against Kennesaw State at 11 a.m.
