JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's basketball team will begin a five-game road stretch on Sunday, Nov. 14 against Davidson in Davidson, North Carolina.

The Gamecocks are fresh off 89-39 season-opening win over AUM on Tuesday.  Five players scored in double-figures including junior Nekiyah Thompson who led the team with a career-high 18 points on 4-o-4 shooting from three-point range. Seniors Shawnta Shaw and Kennedy Gavin also noted career-highs. Gavin led the Gamecocks on the boards with 13 while Shaw added 10 points off the bench and dished out five assists.


Before returning to Pete Mathews Coliseum on Nov. 30 the Gamecocks will play five road games beginning with Davidson. Following the weekend trip to play the Wildcats, JSU will return to Alabama for a midweek matchup against in-state foe Samford, in Birmingham. On Sunday, Nov. 21 the Gamecocks will head north to Nashville to face Vanderbilt. Jax State will spend Thanksgiving in Statesboro, Georgia at the Georgia Southern Classic and will play a pair of games against Indiana State and South Carolina State before returning home.

Davidson is off to an 0-2 start to the season after falling to Virginia Tech (57-76) and Columbia (78-87) this week.
 
Sunday's meeting marks the first all-time matchup between the two programs.
