JACKSONVILLE – Getting set to conclude a four-game homestand, the Jacksonville State women's basketball team is set to host Eastern Kentucky at Pete Mathews Coliseum on Monday night at 5:30 p.m.
Â
The Gamecocks (11-6, 8-5 Ohio Valley Conference) are in the midst of the longest home winning streak in the program's Division I history with 10-straight dating back to the final game of 2019-20, and all nine this season. The Colonels (7-11, 6-8 OVC) are coming off a 74-62 win at Tennessee State on Saturday, but face a JSU team that picked up one of its two road wins earlier this year in Richmond, Kentucky.
Â
With two full weeks remaining in the regular season, JSU is working to secure a spot in next month's OVC Tournament in Evansville, Indiana, in its last season in the league. A return visit to Evansville would be JSU's fourth-straight postseason trip, marking the longest consecutive stretch since entering the OVC in 2003-04.
Â
Monday's game is set to tip at 5:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Mike Parris will have the play-by-play call on the Gamecock Sports Network, and as always, live stats are available at JSUGamecockSports.com.
Â
In addition to its fourth-straight overall and 11th-straight at home, a Gamecock win over the Colonels would give head coach Rick Pietri his 116th victory in his eighth-season at the helm. The mark would break a tie with former coach Dana Austin for the winningest coach in program history. Prior to JSU, Pietri earned the same honor at South Alabama with 220 wins over 13 seasons.
