JACKSONVILLE – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team blanked future conference foe Bellarmine, 7-0, Friday afternoon at the JSU Tennis Courts.

The Gamecocks (5-4) swept doubles play, and the Knights (0-7) managed just one set win in singles competition.

Dariana Prato and
Sara Jamal were first on the board with a 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles, and
Harriet Hamilton and
Charlie Croteau secured Jax State's first point of the day with a 6-2 win at No. 2.

Prato also scored the first point of singles action with a two-set win over Maja Kozerski. The JSU freshman shut out Kozerski 6-0 in both sets to win at No. 4. Hamilton followed up with a near-shutout, downing Morgan Whitlock 6-1 and 6-0 at No. 2.

Malin Buechner, Jamal and
Martina Zarza won at No. 3, 5 and 6, respectively, to up the score to 6-0.

Carolina Bulatovic's match at No. 1 was the last to wrap up, going three sets with Aubrey Smith. Bulatovic won the first set 7-6 but dropped the second 6-3. In a convincing third, the Jax State senior earned a 10-3 deciding set.

Jacksonville State returns to the court Monday, March 8 when they visit Troy for a 1 p.m. match. The Gamecocks are back at home Saturday, March 13 against Southern Miss at 1 p.m.
