RICHMOND, Ky. – The Jacksonville State baseball team claimed the final game of the Eastern Kentucky series, 11-1, in run-rule fashion on Saturday on Turkey Hughes Field and Earl Combs Stadium.
The Colonels captured the series with a 9-5 decision in the opening game of the doubleheader. EKU squeaked out a 1-0 win on Friday night in the series opener. The win improved JSU to 17-17 overall and 8-7 at the midway point of the Ohio Valley Conference slate. EKU dropped the 12-22 on the season and 7-11 against OVC foes.

While Webb provided the offensive spark needed for the Gamecocks, junior
Colin Casey turned in a solid six innings on the mound. Casey scattered three hits and did not allow an earned run. EKU's lone run in the first inning was unearned after a JSU miscue on defense. The Jacksonville, Alabama product worked around four walks and posted a strikeout in the outing. Freshman

Redshirt junior
Nash Adams, junior
Alex Carignan and freshman
Mason Maners all had multiple hits in the win. Senior

The Gamecocks erased a 4-0 deficit in the first game with the five runs in the third inning. The big hit in the inning that saw nine hitters go to the plate was a three-run home run by Carignan. He collected three hits in the twinbill. Junior
