Jordi Blanchar opened singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win on the No.3 singles court.
Logan Haga followed Blanchar with his first win of the season, 6-1, 6-0, in the fourth flight. Haga earned a win-by-forfeit last time out and his first win in a completed match Saturday.
Daisuke Inagawa clinched the match win with his 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles.
Thomas Norwood added a 6-1, 6-0 win from the No. 2 spot.
Haktan Garayev earned his first win of the year, 6-2, 6-2 on the No. 5 court and
Joaquin Vallejo completed the sweep with a 6-3, 6-3, win from the No. 1 spot for his second this year.
"We came out a little bit flat at one and two doubles but found a way to win on each court. Three doubles had good energy from the start and that's why they won 6-0," said Head Coach
Mike Mucci. "In singles, everyone played well and took care of business in straight sets. It was good to see guys like Logan and Haktan win their first ever spring matches. It's great to have the depth that we have so other guys can always step up. We'll get back to work Monday and prepare for a good West Alabama team."
JSU return to action against West Alabama on Friday Feb. 18, at 2 p.m. on the JSU Tennis Courts in Jacksonville, Ala. Stay up to date with JSU tennis by visiting JSUGamecocksports.com and following @JSUGamecockTN on social media.
