HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Jacksonville State women's tennis team fell to Southern Miss, 4-0 on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Southern Miss (2-0) opened the match with wins on the No. 3 and No. 2 doubles courts. The No. 1 match was left unfinished after the Golden Eagles took the doubles point to lead 1-0 in the match.
The golden Eagles earned consecutive wins in No. 5, No.1 and No. 6 singles to defeat the Gamecocks 4-0. The singles match on the No. 3, No. 2 and No. 4 courts were unfinished.
With the loss JSU falls to 0-3 on the season.
The Gamecocks will continue the road trip tomorrow against New Orleans at 2 p.m.
