NEW ORLEANS – The Jacksonville State men's tennis team dropped to 1-2 on the season following a 5-2 loss to New Orleans on Sunday afternoon.
JSU started doubles play up 1-0 following a win-by-frofeit in the No. 3 doubles flight.
Alex Vishnevskiy and
Thomas Norwood were credited with a doubles win due to the forfeit. New Orleans (5-0) won the next two doubles matches to take the doubles point and lead 1-0 in the match.
In singles play,
Lucius Soller earned a win by forfeit to even the match up 1-1. With a win on the No. 4 singles court, 6-1, 6-3,
Vicente Arbelaez earned his second win of the season and gave the Gamecocks a 2-1 lead in the match. The Privateers responded with four straight wins in the remaining singles matches, defeating JSU 5-2.
