JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville State men's tennis team suffered its fourth consecutive loss Sunday morning, 6-1, on the road against No. 72 Florida Gulf Coast.

JSU drops to 7-9 overall and 2-5 in the ASUN with the loss while the No. 72 ranked Eagles remain tied for first in the league with a 6-1 league record and are 13-6 overall.

With just one match remaining in the conference season, JSU sits in sixth place. The top-six teams in the league will advance to the conference tournament beginning on April 22. Â

In Sunday's match the Gamecocks took an early advantage, winning two-of-three doubles matches. FGCU earned a win in the third flight to begin doubles play before
Jordi Blanchar and
Vanja Dobrnjac defeated the Eagles 6-4 in the first flight.
Daisuke Inagawa and
Thomas Norwood clinched the doubles point, 6-4, in the second flight.

Despite winning the doubles point and taking a 1-0 lead in the match, FGCU defeated the Gamecocks in all six singles matches, in route to a 6-1 win.

JSU will close out the conference season on the road against Lipscomb on Saturday, April 16. The Gamecocks will play their final home match of the season on April 17, against UAB.
