JACKSONVILLE - The Jacksonville State women's tennis team capped a two-match road trip with a 4-0 defeat to Florida Gulf Coast in a fourth consecutive loss, Sunday.

JSU (6-13, 2-6) remains in the seventh place in the ASUN standings while the Eagles (12-6, 6-1) move into a tie for first. The top-six teams will advance to the ASUN Conference Championship beginning on April 22.

In Sunday's match, FGCU opened with a win in the No. 1 doubles flight. The Gamecocks' duo of Ella Tuomela and Anna Syrova responded with a 6-2 win in the third flight, to even doubles play 1-1 overall. The Eagles clinched the doubles point, 6-2, in the second flight.

After winning doubles, FGCU turned in wins in the third, fifth and fourth flights, respectively win the match, 4-0.

JSU will close out the conference season on the road against Lipscomb on Saturday, April 16.
