The Tigers, who are 12-4 since the Gamecocks posted a 5-2 win in Auburn on March 29, enter the midweek match up at 29-12 after a sweep of South Carolina. The Bears start the week at 32-8 overall following a tough weekend against Wofford.

Wednesday's meeting will be the 21st meeting all time between Jax State and Mercer after the Bears recorded a 7-2 win in Macon on March 23. The rematch will be the second meeting since the 2003 season when both were conference mates in the ASUN. The Gamecocks lead the series 11-9 and won the regular season series against the Bears in 2003.
