KENOSHA, Wisconsin – The Jacksonville State bowling team rolled to another perfect 5-0 day at the MOTIV Ladyjack Classic on Saturday, sweeping its traditional matches and heading into Sunday's bracket play as the top seed.
Fresh off a 5-0 day in Baker play on Friday, the seventh-ranked Gamecocks won all five of their traditional matches on Saturday and will play as the top seed on Sunday at Kenosha's Sheridan Lanes. The day improves Jax State to 10-0 so far on the weekend and makes it 16-2 over its last 18 matches.
Jax State opened the day with its second win over top-ranked Vanderbilt in as many tries. The Gamecocks edged the defending national champions by a score of 1,096-1,056 just two weeks after beating them in traditional play in the season opening tournament at Destination Orlando.

After disposing of the top-ranked team in the NTCA's Preseason Poll, Jax State got a little revenge on sixth-ranked Youngstown State. The Gamecocks avenged a loss to the Penguins in the Destination Orlando title match by cruising to a 1,130-917 win on Saturday. Grad student
Maranda Pattison bowled a 278 in the match with assistance from freshman
Olivia Fehlner, while Elliott's 245 and Allen's 232 helped push Jax State to its big score. Warkel added a 214 and Henderson's 161 rounded out the Gamecocks' card in the match.
The third match of the day was a 1,073-930 win over Valparaiso, a match the was led by a 256 from Elliott. Allen rolled a 218, Warkel a 215, Fehlner a 212 and Pattison a 172 in the win.
Match four was a 958-928 win over ninth-ranked Maryville, one that was boosted by a 223 from Warkel and a 219 from Pattison. Fehlner added a 180, while a 169 from Allen and a 167 from Elliott capped the Gamecocks' fourth-win of the day.
The day closed with another win over a ranked opponent, when the Gamecocks took down 20
th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater by a score of 1,019-974. Elliott had the high game in the final win of the day with a 223, with Pattison's 214 and Allen's 203 falling closely behind. Fehlner rolled a 193 and Warkel a 186 to round out the Jax State scorecard.
The Gamecocks will face second-seeded Nebraska in a best-of-seven Baker match play to start bracket play on Sunday with the winner advancing to the title match. Vanderbilt and Arkansas State will play on the other side of the bracket, with the winner advancing to face the loser of the Jax State-Nebraska match with a chance to advance.
