JACKSONVILLE - Jacksonville State will not need its travel bags for most of the month of March as its weekend series with Bradley starts a string of 12 consecutive games over a period of 17 days.
The series begins under the lights on Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium with the series opener set for 6 p.m. The series continues with another 6 p.m. start time on Saturday, followed by the final match up on Sunday at 1 p.m. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+ with Friday's game aired on the Gamecock Sports Network. The Saturday and Sunday outings can be heard through Jax State's YouTube page. Due to a technical glitch in the ticketing software, individual game tickets will only be available at the stadium box office.
The 12-game homestand is the longest since Jax State began the 2020 season with 11 straight home dates. The homestand is highlighted by a pair of Southeastern Conference clubs visiting Jax State. In-state rival Auburn and Ole Miss, both 2022 NCAA College World Series participants along with the Rebels claiming the national championship in Omaha, Neb. a season ago, will face the Gamecocks on March 8 and March 14 respectively. Tickets remain for the Auburn and Ole Miss games through the JSU Ticket Office and online at JSUGamecockSports.com.
The Gamecocks (3-5) and Braves (2-3) are meeting for the first time since the 2012 season when the two clubs clashed against each other in the 2012 Russ Matt Invitational in Winter Haven, Florida. Jax State and BU also battled in the neutral site setting in the Sunshine State during the 2009 and 2011 season. Jacksonville State holds a 2-1 lead in the three previous outings against the Missouri Valley Conference program. JSU will be looking to shake off a Tuesday setback at No. 20 Alabama, while BU has been idle during the midweek after splitting a Sunday doubleheader at Little Rock last weekend.
