
Jax State Women's Golf Ready For UNF Collegiate

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville State women's golf team looks to continue to build momentum in its spring season on Monday, when the Gamecocks tee off in The Momentum Transportation UNF Collegiate presented by Gravity Diagnostics.
The Gamecocks will compete against 16 other schools on the 5,964-yard, par-72 layout at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. The field will play 36 holes of the 54-hole event on Monday before wrapping up with the final round on Tuesday. Play will begins with an 8:30 am ET shotgun start.
In the field will be ASUN foes North Florida, Kennesaw State and Eastern Kentucky, as well as future Conference USA opponents Western Kentucky and Sam Houston. Furman, Xavier, Penn State, Memphis, Arkansas State, Oral Roberts, Iowa, Daytona State Charlotte, East Carolina and South Alabama will also be in the event.
The Gamecocks will be led by their lone upperclassman, senior Claire Vermette. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native will be playing from her usual No. 1 spot and competing in her home state for the second of three-straight events. She will start play on the 16th hole.
In the No. 2 spot for the Gamecocks for the second-straight event will be redshirt freshman Aaron Whitley. A native of Osprey, Fla., she will be playing against her former team in North Florida, from where she transferred to Jax State from prior to the 2022-23 season. She will also start on hole No. 16.
Sophomore Paula Perez Cubinas will tee off on No. 17 as the Gamecocks' No. 3 player, while freshmen Anna Ymbern Quinoa and Ebby Somers will play in the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively. Both will tee off on the 18th hole.
