
Women’s Golf Looks to Bounce Back at The Ally

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State women's golf team has just two tournaments remaining in the fall portion of the schedule, one begins Monday morning in West Point, Miss.
The Gamecocks will be one of 16 teams in the field at Old Waverly Golf Club for The Ally, hosted by Mississippi State; the alma mater of coach Robbie Fields.
Last time out, Jax State was 11th at The Southern held at Savannah Country Club. The Gamecocks were led by Ebby Somers in 24th place at +16. Somers opened with a one-over round of 73 and finished the 54-hole tournament with eight birdies. Lara El Chaib also added eight birdies during the tournament.
Rachel Camp leads Jax State in scoring at 76.1. Her and Somers have averaged 74.8 in the second round to lead the roster.
The first round begins Monday at 9:15 a.m. for the Gamecocks off the front nine. Jax State will be playing with James Madison University along with individuals from Florida, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi State. Sandra Menes will be first up at 9:15 followed by Paula Perez Cubinas at 9:24, Somers at 9:33, Camp at 9:42, and El Chaib at 9:51.
The second round will take place on Tuesday with the final round happening on Wednesday.
