JACKSONVILLE—Just five days after wrapping up play at Old Waverly, the Jax State women's golf team is back on the course in Hattiesburg, Miss. for The Judson hosted by Southern Miss.
This is the last of seven fall tournaments for the Gamecocks, which will return to action in February for five more tournaments including postseason play.
Last time out, the team was ninth in a loaded field at The Ally. Rachel Camp finished in the top 20 with an even-par score over 54 holes, and was bogey free in the final round until the final hole. She opened with a one-under 71 to start play, carding three birdies on the back nine.
This will be the first time the Gamecocks have played in the event since October 31, 2022 when they finished sixth of 11 teams in the field.
For the first two rounds of the 54-hole tournament, the Gamecocks will be matched with the hosts and Belmont on Monday. Also participating in the tournament are Alabama State, Lamar, Mississippi College, Tarleton State, UAB, North Alabama, and Western Illinois.
The course will play as a 6,223-yard par 72 during the first day and will be 74 yards shorter on Tuesday.
Play begins on Monday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start. Jax State's five golfers will start on the first four holes.
