LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Jacksonville State volleyball lost Saturday afternoon at New Mexico State in a four-set match.
The Gamecocks (8-21, 1-15) dropped the first set to the Aggies (16-10, 10-6) 11-25. Jax State claimed the extended second set 29-27. The Aggies won the third set 25-18 and the fourth 25-21 to clinch the conference game victory. The Red-and-White tallied 63 digs, 47 kills, 44 assists, 11 blocks, and five service aces in Saturday's match.
Kayla Williams led the Gamecocks with 18 kills. She also reached 1,000 career digs in collegiate volleyball thanks to this weekend's two matches. Entering the weekend, she needed only 27 kills to reach the milestone.
Sanni Rantanen had a good day offensively as well as she accounted for 14 kills on a team-best .333 hit percentage.
Brooklyn Schiffli led the Gamecocks in digs on the afternoon with 21.
Madison Konopka added 12 digs, respectively.
Ellie Garrett had 40 assists and eight digs as Jax State's setter.
Jax State will end the 2024 regular season hosting Louisiana Tech on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 15 at 5 p.m. Friday's match will be the Gamecocks' Senior Day.
