JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State women's basketball team has officially announced the release of their non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 campaign. The schedule has the Gamecocks hosting seven home games and hitting the road for five contests.
 
Alabama-Huntsville, UAB, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, and Life University all played Jacksonville State last season and appear on the schedule again this year.
 
Tipping Things Off
Jax State will host Alabama-Huntsville for the second straight season. This year, the match will be an exhibition on Oct. 29 at the Pete Mathews Coliseum. The exhibition against the Chargers will be a kid's day with schools from the surrounding areas invited to cheer on the Gamecocks. Jax State's official start to the season will be on the road against one of the newest Big 12 Conference members, Arizona State, on Nov. 4.
 
Road Tripping
Following the trip to Tempe, Ariz., Jax State will have four more road games in the non-conference slate. The Gamecocks visit South Carolina State on Nov. 15, Missouri on Dec. 1, Coastal Carolina on Dec. 7, and Utah Valley on Dec. 16. The trip to Utah Valley will be the second game the Red-and-White will play in the CUSA/WAC Challenge. Last season, Jax State played WAC schools Utah Tech and UT – Arlington.
 
In the Pete
The official home opener for the Gamecocks will be against Southern Utah (Nov. 9) in the first match up of the CUSA/WAC Challenge. Jax State will get return games from UAB (Nov. 20) and College of Charleston (Dec. 11) after visiting both of those schools in 2023. Other teams coming to Jacksonville include Sewanee (Nov. 15), New Orleans (Dec. 20), and Life University (Dec. 30). The game against Life will conclude non-conference action for Jax State.
