
Women’s Golf Enters Second Tournament of the Week

JACKSONVILLE—Following a third-place finish on Tuesday, the Jax State women's golf team is right back in action on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Invitational in State College, Pa.
The Gamecocks have posted an average team score of 299.6 through five rounds in two previous tournaments. Sophomores Rachel Camp and Jinger Heath lead the team in score per 18 at 73.8 and 74, respectively.
Camp led the way in the season opener at Clemson with a one-over 14th place finish, thanks to a career-best 68 in the second round. Heath was seventh at Kansas State this week with a five-over 221 over 54 holes. Heath and Ebby Somers each had eight birdies during play at Colbert Hills this week.
A total of 14 teams will take to the Blue Course at Penn State Golf Club for the 54-hole tournament which starts Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start for the first two rounds. Sunday's final round begins at 8:30 a.m. The course underwent a renovation and redesign in 2007 and hosted the 2009 Big Ten Men's Golf Championship. It will be laid out as a 6,423-yard Par-72 this weekend.
Along with the Gamecocks and Nittany Lions, Central Michigan, Akron, Youngstown State, Delaware, Seton Hall, Richmond, Yale, Columbia, Harvard, Towson, Central Arkansas, and Princeton will be in the field.
