
Women’s Golf Heads to Manhattan

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State women's golf team will take to the links for the second time this season when it takes part in the Powercat Classic hosted by Kansas State on Monday and Tuesday.
The Gamecocks will take to Colbert Hills Golf Club for the 54-hole event which features two rounds on Monday with the final 18 holes played on Tuesday.
Colbert Hills opened in 2000 and has hosted the NCAA Men's Central Regional and the Big XII Women's Championship in the past. The Zoysia Grass fairways and Bentgrass greens have 106 premium white sand bunkers mixed in.
Joining the Gamecocks in the field will be Cincinnati, North Texas, UT Rio Grande Valley, Dayton, Northern Colorado, Bowling Green State, Bethune-Cookman, North Dakota, Central Arkansas, Wichita State, Southern Miss, Incarnate Word, Austin Peay, Houston Christian, and the host Wildcats.
In the season opener at Clemson, Jax State posted a two-over team score in the second round to move up six spots on the team leaderboard into a seventh-place finish. Rachel Camp's four-under second round of 68 led the way with a 14th place finish on the individual leaderboard. Jinger Heath finished 31st with a 36-hole total of 149 (76-73).
