JACKSONVILLE — Jax State baseball head coach Steve Bieser announced the addition of Griffin Lewis to the 2026-27 signing class on Wednesday morning.

The addition of Lewis brings the signing class total to 11 players, with Lewis also being the second player in the class to hail from Texas and McLennan Community College.

Lewis is preparing for his second season with the Highlanders. In his first season, his team went undefeated in the Region V Regional and Super Regional to advance to the JUCO World Series in Grand Juction for the second consecutive season, finishing in the semifinal round ... He made 16 appearances on the mound with a 5-0 record, tallying 54 strikeouts in 33.1 innings and a 5.67 ERA ... Was an NJCAA All-Academic Second Team selection ... Played at Edward S. Marcus High School, where he posted a .300 batting average anda 1.90 ERA under head coach Jeffery Sherman ... Was a two-time All-District Selection, earning second team honors as a junior and first team honors as a senior.
