
Women’s Golf Resumes Season in Florida

JACKSONVILLE—The Jax State Women's Golf team heads to Hammock Creek for their spring opener at the Advance Golf Partners Collegiate, hosted by UNC Greensboro in Palm City, Fla.
The Gamecocks posted three third-place finishes in seven tournaments during the fall, including at The Judson hosted by Southern Miss in the fall finale. Rachel Camp led the team in scoring average during the fall with a 75.4 stroke average with 35 birdies and an eagle in 19 rounds. Lara El Chaib posted a 75.8 average with 32 birdies and an eagle in 17 rounds.
Rebekka Stutley will make her Jax State debut this weekend. The freshman from Austraila signed to join the team in November and will open the weekend as the team's No. 3 golfer.
Jax State won the event last year, highlighted by a seven-over round of 295 to open the tournament.
The 18-team field is highlighted by Virginia Tech, which ranks 54th in the latest clippd rankings. Joining the Gamecocks and host UNCG are Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Bryant, Bucknell, East Tennessee State, Elon, Georgia State, Lipscomb, Little Rock, Memphis, Merrimack, Morehead State, Ohio, Southern Illinois, and Towson.
Play begins on Sunday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The Gamecocks will play with UNCG, Virginia Tech, and Little Rock and will start on holes 1-3. Pairings will be changed for Tuesday by score with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Tuesday's final round will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Hammock Creek is a Jack Nicklaus Legacy Design course that was opened in 1996 and renovated in 2013 will play as a Par 72 with a yardage of 6,138.
