JACKSONVILLE – Jacksonville State's men's tennis team earned a convincing 7-0 win over Wallace State-Hanceville Tuesday afternoon. The Gamecocks took the doubles point then dominated in singles play to earn their seventh victory of the season.
Zach Murphy and
Lucius Soller won again in doubles in a close match against James Edley and Angel Gautier in a match that came down to tiebreakers. Murphy and Soller won 7-6 (8-6) in the No. 1 slot for the Gamecocks.
David Krasner teamed up with
Marko Milosavljevic to defeat Alexander Edley and Zachary Riley 6-1 on court two.
Timo De Visser and
Logan Haga then took a 6-2 triumph over Ferran Bonastre and Jace Moody on court three.
In singles play, De Visser dropped his first set against James Edley 6-4 in the No. 1 slot. De Visser responded with a 6-2 second set win and 7-5 in the third to take the match. Milosavljevic controlled the first set with a 6-0 win before winning a tight second set 7-5 against Alexander Edley. Krasner handled business against Gautier on court three in a 6-3, 6-4 victory.
Fatu got a win on court four over Jean Badenhorst in a 6-3, 6-1 straight-set win.
Aman Dahiya downed Bonastre 6-2 in both the first and second sets. Murphy dominated on court six over Moody in a 6-0 first set win and a 6-1 second set win.
The Gamecocks will now turn their attention to a four-match road trip. The Red-and-White start the road swing with a showdown at South Carolina State on Thursday, March 20 in a 12 p.m. first-serve.
