
Women’s Golf opens CUSA Championship Monday Morning

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.—Jax State women's golf will play the Slammer and Squire course at World Golf Village this week for the Conference USA Championship.
The 54-hole tournament starts Monday at 8:15 a.m. Eastern for the Gamecocks with Paula Perez Cubinas leading things off, followed by Rachel Camp at 8:24, Lara El Chaib at 8:33, Sandra Menes at 8:42, and Rebekka Stutley at 8:51.
In their most recent tournament, Jax State was ninth at the Ironwood Invitational behind a 12th-place finish from Stutley who fired a one-under 71 in the final round with five birdies in her final seven holes. The freshman from Australia joined the Gamecocks at the start of the semester and has a 74.4 adjusted scoring average in her first 12 rounds and has been in the top 15 of each of her four tournaments played.
Perez Cubinas is the lone senior in the lineup and has a 77.7 adjusted scoring average in 23 rounds this year. She just missed out on a top 10 finish at the Chris Banister Golf Classic at RTJ Silver Lakes with an 11th-place finish.
Western Kentucky is the highest ranked team in the field at 62nd in the latest clippd rankings, followed by Middle Tennessee (95), Sam Houston (101), and the Gamecocks (132).
The course first debuted in May 1998 and was crafted by Bobby Weed with input from its namesakes; Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. It earned a Golfers' Choice accolade from Golf Pass in 2023 as one of the top 25 courses for best conditions in the U.S. as No. 2.
