JACKSONVILLE - Jacksonville State will put its four-game midweek winning streak against in-state rivals on Tuesday when eighth-ranked Auburn visits Rudy Abbott Field at Jim Case Stadium.
First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Tickets for the midweek contest are available online at JaxStateSports.com. All Jax State students and fans 18 years old and younger are admitted free.
Dating back to an 11-1 win over nationally-ranked Troy on March 11, Jax State has reeled off road wins over Samford (March 18), UAB (March 25) and Alabama State (April 1). The Gamecocks are 4-2 against programs within the state with both setbacks coming against Alabama.
The Tigers make the trip to Jacksonville red-hot after taking the series against Alabama two weeks ago, handing Georgia Tech a midweek loss and sweeping then No. 3 LSU this past weekend.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ and carried on the Gamecock Sports Network.

• Tuesday's meeting with Auburn will be the 35th meeting all-time between the two in-state programs. The Tigers hold a 20-15 lead in the series, including wins in five-of-the-last-six meetings. The Gamecocks posted a 5-2 win over the Tigers at Plainsman Park during the 2022 season. The last time Jax State recorded a win over Auburn in Jacksonville was during the 2011 season (March 22, 5-4). Auburn powered past Jax State in the lone meeting between the two programs in 2024 at Auburn. The Tigers are the third Southeastern Conference team on the Jax State schedule with Tuesday's game being the sixth-of-seven versus SEC competition. (Alabama, Ole Miss). • The Gamecocks begin the week as the one of the NCAA Division I Baseball leaders in triples and stolen bases. In the first 36 games, Jax State has collected 13 triples (all at home) and ranks 20th in the nation behind Arizona (24). Senior

Caleb Johnson have three triples each. Jax State also ranks in the NCAA Top-20 in stolen bases with 82 on the season. Last season the Gamecocks accumulated 92 total stolen bases. The trio of Collins, Blauser and Johnson have combined for 45-of-54 on the base paths.

Carson Hornung had his 27-game on-base streak snapped on Sunday against Dallas Baptist. It was the first game since February 25 at Alabama that he had not reached base. During that stretch of games, Hornung hit .365, including three home runs. He delivered 11 RBI and tallied 28 walks and three HBP. Hornung had nine multi-hit games during the streak. He enters the week leading CUSA with 33 walks, with 26 of those walks coming during the 27-game streak.
