DALLAS, Texas – After turning in a second consecutive outing worthy of Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors, Jacksonville State's Steven Cash was named the CUSA Pitcher of the Week after a dominant performance over Louisiana Tech.

Cash, who tossed a seven-inning complete game at Middle Tennessee on May 4, mirrored that outing with seven innings of work and a career-high 10 strikeouts on Saturday to guide the Gamecocks to a 4-0 blanking of LA Tech. The 10 strikeouts is the most by a Gamecock pitcher since Isaiah Magwood fanned 11 in a contest against North Alabama in March of 2022.

On Saturday, he limited the Bulldogs to three hits. LA Tech did not get a hit off Cash after a two-out double in the fourth inning. It was the sixth shutout by the Gamecocks this season and the win secured the sixth CUSA series of the season and the fourth straight for Jax State.

Over the last two starts, the lefty from Centreville, Alabama, has tossed 14.0 innings, collected 16 strikeouts and touched for seven hits and three earned runs. 
Cash becomes the second Gamecock in the last three weeks to earn weekly accolades from the league office. Senior Drew Collins was named the Hitter of the Week after a stellar series against New Mexico State.

Jax State will wrap up the regular season on the road this week beginning on Tuesday against Auburn before closing out the CUSA slate against Western Kentucky in a series that gets started on Thursday in Bowling Green, Ky.
