
Men's Tennis Wins Seventh-Straight at UAB

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 72 ranked Jacksonville State men's tennis team continued to roll as they earned their seventh-straight victory with a 4-2 win against UAB Wednesday in Birmingham. Jax State improves to 14-2 on the year with the win.
In doubles play, Aman Dahiya and Lucius Soller were beaten 6-0 by UAB's Conor Flynn and Axel Frechet on court two. Jax State then responded with a doubles win by Alin Fatu and Charlie Penman on court three as they defeated Kaustubh Holcomb and Tomas Tischner 6-2. To grant the Gamecocks the doubles point, Timo De Visser and David Krasner prevailed in a 6-3 final on court one against Juan Pablo Valdez and Ondrej Valek.
In singles play, Krasner lost the first match to go final 6-4, 6-1 against Valdez on court two. De Visser put the Gamecocks back in front 2-1 with a 6-4, 6-1 triumph over Frechet on court five. Marko Milosavljevic was victorious by scores of 6-0 in the first and 6-1 in the second against Tischner on court four.
Trailing 3-1, Valek beat Penman 6-4 in the first and took the second 7-6 (10-8) to make it 3-2 Gamecocks. Dahiya clinched the Gamecock victory with a 7-5, 6-2 win against Flynn on court three.
Fatu won the first set 6-3 and was leading the second 5-4 against Hoan Mouret when the match was abandoned as the Gamecocks clinched the match victory thanks to Dahiya.
Jax State will now travel to Austin Peay on Tuesday, March 24, to face the Governors for a match that begins at 1 p.m. in Clarksville, Tenn.
