DALLAS—Jax State shortstop
Aria Davis was selected as the Conference USA Softball Player of the Week.
Davis helped the Gamecocks to a three-game weekend series sweep of FIU to move her team to 11-1 in Conference USA play. During the series, the sophomore from Dacula, Ga. hit .400 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs. Her home run in Friday's game gave Jax State a 2-0 lead in the second inning. She also got the scoring started in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with a solo homer to left, then had a 2-for-4 showing with a seventh inning RBI single in the final game of the season.
The Gamecocks will host Alabama State tomorrow at 5 p.m.
