DALLAS, Texas – Jax State redshirt junior southpaw has been named Conference USA Co-Pitcher of the Week, the league announced on Monday afternoon.

This marks the first time this season that the league has given out a Co-Player of the Week honor. Pillsbury shares the honor with Middle Tennessee's Cole Torbett.

Pillsbury opened the series against FIU in emphatic fashion on Friday night, pitching for a career-high eight innings with zero earned runs on his ledger. The Newburgh, Indiana native added six strikeouts to his season tally, now at 65 for the season. Pillsbury lowered his season ERA to 1.92, now the lowest against in CUSA, and earned his CUSA-leading sixth win of the season.

With Pillsbury's award this week, Jax State becomes the only school in CUSA to have all three starters of its weekend rotation named to Pitcher of the Week. Steven Cash earned the honor on February 23, while Beau Bryans earned it two weeks later on March 9.

The Gamecocks will travel south on Tuesday to take on the Troy Trojans in midweek action. First pitch from Riddle-Pace Field is set for 6 p.m.
