JACKSONVILLE – Jax State student-athletes once again reached historic heights in the classroom during the 2025-26 academic year, posting a department-record 3.361 cumulative grade point average.
The record-setting year surpasses last year's previous department best of 3.341 and continues an impressive stretch of academic achievement for Gamecock Athletics. Jax State student-athletes have now recorded a cumulative GPA above 3.0 for 15 consecutive years and above a 3.2 GPA for nine straight years.
"This accomplishment is a tremendous reflection of the culture we continue to build within Jax State Athletics," said Greg Seitz, Vice President for Athletics. "Our student-athletes continue to prove they can compete for championships while also excelling in the classroom. I am extremely proud of the commitment shown by our student-athletes, coaches, academic support staff, and everyone involved in supporting their success."
Women's Golf led all programs with an outstanding 3.897 team GPA, followed closely by Rifle (3.857), Women's Bowling (3.877), Soccer (3.796), and Softball (3.773).
Additional programs posting team GPAs above 3.5 included Women's Tennis (3.578), Volleyball (3.555), and Women's Track & Field (3.520).

The record academic year comes during another banner season for Jax State Athletics, highlighted by multiple Conference USA championships, an NCAA national championship in bowling and the school's second FBS bowl victory. Jax State's on-field success has been watched by millions with 13 national broadcast to date across multiple programs. Jax State baseball continues play in the CUSA Tournament this weekend.
