Johnson Named to Conference USA All-Academic Team

DALLAS – Jax State Track and Field sophomore sprinter Amiyah Johnson was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team by the league office on Friday.

Johnson turned in a 3.86 GPA in Exercise Science and Wellness with a Clinical concentration this semester, along with taking home two first-place finishes during the outdoor track and field season in the 100m at the Josh Reidinger Invite and the 4x100m Relay at the Outdoor Music City Challenge.

Additionally, Johnson was the first leg of the 4x100m Relay team that broke the school record and earned a third-place finish at the Conference USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a time of 45.06. The group earned All-Conference Third Team honors just three weeks ago.

The Sulligent, Ala. native also achieved the fourth-fastest 100m time in school history at the Georgia Tech Invitational with a time of 11.74s.
