Fegans Named to Nagurski Watch List

DALLAS—Jax State fifth-year cornerback Tre'Quon Fegans was named to the 2026 Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List today.
The Anniston native is one of 68 players from 47 schools representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences on the list for the award which honors the national defensive player of the year.
Fegans is one of eight corners on the list and just two players from Conference USA to make the list. Last season, Fegans was named honorable mention All-Conference USA after making 27 tackles with 1.5 for loss, an interception, and nine pass breakups in 2025. According to Pro Football Focus, he was targeted 39 times and allowed just 14 catches with one touchdown.
The Football Writers Association of America along with the Charlotte Touchdown Club will announce the finalists on November 19th with the recipient named on December 7th.
Jax State is coming off a 9-5 season, winning the IS4S Salute to Veterans Bowl in 2025 and opens the 2026 season on August 29 at North Dakota State on CBS Sports Network at 4:30 p.m.
