DALLAS—Jax State picked up two of Conference USA's Football Player of the Week honors for their performance in a 23-13 win over Middle Tennessee on Saturday.

Quarterback Caden Creel was the offensive player of the week after completing 19 of his 27 passes for 241 yards with a touchdown and added a team-high 119 yards rushing on 12 carries with an additional touchdown.

The senior from Fairhope is the only FBS quarterback in the country with 1,100 or more passing yards and 300 or more rushing yards this season.

On special teams, fifth-year kicker Garrison Rippa scored 11 points going 3-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points. The Locust Grove, Ga. native was good on field goals of 27, 31, and 29 yards and had three of his six kickoffs go for touchbacks.

The Gamecocks will return to action on October 7th at Kennesaw State in a game that will air on CBS Sports Network as part of Weekday CUSA.
