2010: Was the Gamecocks’ libero in all 115 games as a junior…picked up 570 digs, the second-most in school history behind her school record from 2009…ran her career total to 1,714 digs, 32 away from passing Kisha West’s school record of 1,745…named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America…her 4.96 digs per set were second in school history and ranked fifth in the OVC…was second on the team with 23 service aces…was a three-time OVC Defensive Player of the Week, with the first coming on Sept. 6 after she earned All-Tournament honors at the Virginia Tech Hokie Invite by averaging 6.9 digs per set…she earned the award on Sept. 27 after averaging 5.1 digs after a 30-dig performance in a win over Austin Peay…final weekly honor came on Oct. 25 after she averaged 6.17 digs per set, including 25 in a three-set sweep of Eastern Kentucky on Oct. 22…notched at least 30 digs in a match three times, including a season-high 34 twice, vs. Coastal Carolina on Sept. 4 and vs. Tennessee Tech on Nov. 2, both four-set matches…picked up double-digit digs in all but two matches and surpassed the 20-dig mark 14 times…averaged 5.25 digs in conference matches.
2009: Played in all 137 games for the Gamecocks as a sophomore…recorded a school record 662 digs, the sixth-most in the nation and 136 more than any previous player in school history…averaged 4.83 digs per game, which ranked sixth in the OVC and 47th nationally…was a two-time OVC Defensive Player of the Week honoree (Aug. 31 and Oct. 12)…won the first one after averaging 5.46 digs per game in a 3-0 opening weekend at the Wake Forest Deacon Invitational…her second honor came after tying the JSU Division I record for digs in a 4-set match with 31 at Eastern Illinois on Oct. 10…tied that record in a 4-set win over Murray State in the first round of the OVC Tournament on Nov. 20…was named to the OVC All-Tournament Team after averaging 6.71 digs per game…recorded double figures in digs in all but two matches, including 17 with 20 ore more and three with 30 or more……dished out 37 assists from the back row…led the team and ranked third in the OVC in service aces per game with 0.32…her 44 total aces led the OVC…boasted a .952 reception percentage after 743 total chances.
2008: Played in all 107 games for the Gamecocks as a true freshman…earned OVC All-Newcomer honors after leading the team and ranking fourth in the OVC with 482 digs, the fourth-highest single-season total in JSU history…averaged 4.50 digs per game, which also ranked fourth in the JSU record books…was second in the OVC in service aces with an average of 0.3 per game after totaling 32 aces on the year…picked up an average of 4.59 ddigs per game in OVC play to rank fifth in that category…picked up 20 or more digs in all but three matches, including the final 13 of the season…recorded a season-high 31 digs vs. Tennessee Tech on Sept. 23…had 20 or more digs in a match eight times…had a season-high four service aces in the season finale at UT Martin on Nov. 15…had at least one ace in all but eight matches.
Prep: Prepped at perennial power Assumption High School for head coaches Ron Kordes and Annie Filley…comes from a program at AHS that won state titles in her last four seasons…an all-state and all-region performer as a senior, she guided the Rockets to a 39-3 record, just one season after compiling a 41-1 record in her junior season…in her freshman and sophomore seasons, AHS compiled a 38-5 and 43-0 record, respectively…earned the team’s Defensive Award in 2004…played club volleyball for the Kentucky Indiana Volleyball Academy, where she was a part of AAU National Titles in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2007.
Personal: Born on May 22, 1990, in Louisville, Ky…the daughter of Steve and Sandy Harkins…has an older brother, Kyle…was an honor student at AHS, where she graduated with a 4.0 grad point average...is majoring in political science and pre-law at JSU.
