2014: Saw action in eight games in his first season on the field for JSU…made his collegiate debut in the season opener at Michigan State with three tackles…recorded a sack of 13 yards in JSU’s home opener against West Alabama…also had a sack versus Murray State the next week…credited with a pass break up in the Murray State contest…posted a season-high five stops, including a pair of tackles for a loss against Tennessee Tech…finished the season with 20 tackles and four for a loss.

2013: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played four seasons for head coach Richie Marsh at Thomasville High School in Thomasville, Ga…was selected to play in the Georgia-Florida All-Star Game, where he grabbed five catches for 80 yards…had his best game for THS against Pelham in his senior season finale, when he caught seven passes for 128 yards and two touchdowns, one from 37 yards out and the other from nine yards…had a 3.3 GPA at THS.

PERSONAL: Full name is Tre Markell Garland…son of Phillip Garland and Veroncia Scott…born on March 26, 1995, in Thomasville, Ga…has three sisters, Kailon Garland, Jailon Garland and Adrienne Scott…majoring in art at JSU.
