JSU CAREER:
2015: Made three appearances beginning with JSU’s visit to No. 6 Auburn on Sept. 12…also saw action against Mississippi Valley State and OVC foe Southeast Missouri where the Gamecocks locked up their second consecutive conference title…was a reserve on an offensive line that led the way for an offense which set a single season school record for total offense with 7,613 yards. 

2014: Sat out the season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played at nearby Glencoe High School under the guidance of Lee Ozmint…named all-county and all-region at GHS…earned honorable mention all-state status by the Alabama Sports Writers Association…was voted by his Yellow Jacket teammates and coaches as the team captain and the Bobby Miles Award winner…recognized as a member of the TV 24 News Pigskin Roundup All-Star Team…led GHS to the second round of the AHSAA State Playoffs. 

PERSONAL: Full name is Tyler Matthew Johnson…was born on May 5, 1995…is the son of Sherry and Cary Johnson…has one sister, Kaylie…majoring in occupational safety and health at JSU.
