2007 OVC All-Newcomer Team
2009: Appeared in all 35 matches and in all 137 games as the Gamecocks’ setter as a junior…led the team and the OVC with 1,283 assists, while her 9.36 assists per set ranked seventh in the league…her 1,283 assists on the year were the sixth-most in a season in school history…was a two-time OVC Setter of the Week honoree, with her first coming on Sept. 7 after totaling 153 assists over three matches and leading JSU to the Bama Bash title, thanks to 53 assists in a win over host Alabama that also saw her record five kills and three block assists…won the weekly honor again on Oct. 19 after averaging 13 assists per set in a pair of wins…dished 40 or more assists in a match 14 times, including five of 50 or more…recorded a season-high 58 assists against UT Martin on Sept. 26…was fourth on the team with 247 digs, and assisted on 32 blocks and totaled 57 kills…recorded seven double-doubles, including three in three-set matches.
2008: Appeared in all 29 matches and in 103 of the Gamecocks’ 107 games as a sophomore…led the Gamecocks with 783 assists and ranked seventh in the OVC in assists per game with an average of 7.60…was named the OVC’s Setter of the Week on Sept. 1 after registering 111 assists over JSU’s first three matches of the year…also picked up 147 digs for an average of 1.43 per game, while putting in 68 kills…dished out 40 or more assists in a match eight times, including a season-high 49 at IUPUI on Aug. 31…recorded a season-high 12 digs twice, vs. Tennessee State on Sept. 19 and vs. Austin Peay on Sept. 20.
2007: Appeared in all 107 games as a true freshman for the Gamecocks and had one of the best seasons by a setter in school history…was named to the Ohio Valley Conference’s All-Newcomer Team after dishing out a JSU Division I record 1,401 assists, the third-highest total in school history…finished second in the OVC and 23rd in the nation in assists per game with an average of 13.09…was fourth on the squad in digs with 194, an average of 1.81 per game…in OVC play, dished 1,026 assists in 73 games, an average of 14.05 per game…recorded the two highest assists totals in the OVC in back-to-back matches (79 at Tennessee Tech on Oct. 27 and 78 at Southeast Missouri on Nov. 2)…also broke the 70-assist mark on Sept. 9, when she distributed 72 assists against Albany…had six double-doubles on the year and picked up a season-high 19 digs at Murray State on Sept. 15…had 54 assists in a three-game sweep of Samford on Sept. 19, tying her for the most assists in a three-game match by an OVC player during the season…had a season-high seven kills and a .636 attack percentage on Sept. 1 vs. Indiana.
Prep: Played four seasons for head coach Laura Jensen at Crystal Lake South High School in Crystal Lake, Ill…started three seasons for the Gators’ varsity squad, setting the school’s assist record in 2006 as a senior…a first team all-conference and all-area performer as a junior and senior…received the 100 Percentile Award for serving in both her junior and senior seasons…led the Gators to conference titles in 2005 and 2006, including an undefeated record in 2005…played club volleyball with Fusion, who she helped lead to second place in the Junior Olympics Open in 2004 and first place at the Northern Lights Qualifier in 2005 and 2006.
Personal: Born on Sept. 30, 1988, in Chicago, Ill…the daughter of Patrice Hugo and Bruce Schumacher…has four brothers, Travis, Cody, Jake and Adam, and three sisters, Cynthia, Nicole and Jessica…was an honor student at Crystal Lake South High School…plans to major in physical therapy at JSU.
