2009 OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll
SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the Kauai Menehunes of the Hawaii Collegiate League in 2009…was selected to the All-Star team after batting .283 with 31 hits, six doubles and one triple.
JSU CAREER: (2010) Played in 52 games with 49 starts, including 19 at second, 14 at shortstop, seven at third, five in left field and three as DH...hit .318 with 57 hits, including 11 doubles and three triples while driving in 23 runs...scored 38 runs and was a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases...produced 17 multiple-hit games and five multiple-RBI games...had a season-high four hits in the season finale at Morehead State (5/22) and was 4-for-4 against Tennessee Tech in the winners bracket game of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament...recorded two doubles against Middle Tennessee (3/6) and at Morehead State (5/22)...stole a season-high two bases against Eastern Michigan (3/14), UAB (4/28) and Eastern Illinois (4/27)...posted a 13-game hitting streak that spanned from Middle Tennessee (3/6) to UT Martin (3/27)…batted .469 as leadoff, going 15-for-32 and posted a .555 success advancing runners.
(2009) As a sophomore, played in 52 games and had 50 starts, including 28 at second, six at third, one in left field and 15 in right field…finished the season with a .309 batting average, going 67-for-217, with 32 RBI…had 13 doubles and two triples, while walking 13 times…had a team-best 19 game hitting streak during the season, which was the fourth longest in the OVC, and started on 2/22 at Appalachian State and ended on 3/24 at Troy…finished the season with 19 multiple-hit games, including 13 2-hit games, four 3-hit games and two 4-hit games…went 4-for-6 vs Alabama State on 3/11, and was 4-for-5 vs Austin Peay on 3/29…knocked in a season-high four RBI vs Alabama State on 3/11…batted. .367 in OVC games, going 29-for-79 with 12 RBI…batted .415 with runners on base and led the team with a .471 batting average with runners in scoring position, going 8-for-17, versus OVC opponents…had his best series of the year vs Austin Peay, where he batted .600 (6-10) with five RBI…(2008) As a redshirt freshman, saw action in 29 games and recorded nine starts…batted .179, going 7-for-39, with four RBI…made his first career start vs MTSU on 2/24, and went 2-for-4 with one RBI…went 1-for-3 with a pair of walks and a stolen base vs Georgia State on 3/18.
(2007) Sat out the season as a red-shirt.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four years under Chris Leak and Phill Paccio at Arab High School…led the team with a .400 batting average as a senior and posted a .923 fielding percentage…as a junior, posted a .319 batting average and finished with a .968 fielding percentage…was an All-County selection as a junior and senior…named team’s best Defensive Player both as a junior and senior…also lettered in basketball, where he played for Bob Harpe…named to the All-County and All-Area teams in basketball and won team’s Most Improved Player as a senior…was a member of the Beta Club…named Who’s Who Among American High School Students…member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
PERSONAL: Full name is Dustin Blake Seguin…son of Keith and Carol Seguin…born on December 3, 1987…lists the St. Louis Cardinals as his favorite team…majoring in Business at JSU.
