SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for Xenia Scouts in Grat Lakes Summer Collegiate League for the second straight year in 2011…Played for Joshua Hulin and the Xenia Scouts of the Great Lakes League in 2010 with JSU teammate Cody Ponder…Played for the Tennessee Tornado of the Southern Collegiate League with JSU teammate Sam Eberle in 2009…played for American Legion Post 34 for John Rushing from 2004-2008…helped team to the State Championship in 2008…also won the State Championship in 2005 and 2007…was Regional runner-up in 2005.
 
JSU CAREER:
 
(2011) Saw action in 16 games with two starts as DH…batted .278 after going 5-for-18…scored five runs…also drew six walks…led team with 11 pinch-hitting opportunites and had five hits to post a .455 average as a pinch hitter…drove in the game winning run on 4/16 at Austin Peay on a pinch-hit RBI single to left center to score Sam Eberle and give the Gamecocks a 5-4 win over the Govs.
 
(2010) Saw action in 32 games with 17 starts, including eight as DH, seven at first, one in left field and one in right field…batted .274 with two doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI…scored 12 runs…had five multiple-hit games and two multiple-RBI games…had three hits in the season opener against Michigan (3/19)…drove in three runs and hit his first career home run against Eastern Michigan (3/14)…also had a pair of hits at Eastern Kentucky (5/16)…hit a double at Morehead State (5/21)…led all Gamecock pinch-hitters with a .364 batting average, going 4-for-11.
 
(2009) As a redshirt freshman, played in 25 games with 11 starts, including three in LF and eight as DH…batted .204 with a pair of doubles and 11 RBI…scored five runs…had three multiple-hit games…went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBI vs Alabama State on 3/11…was 2-for-4 with three run at UAB (5/6)…was 2-for-2 with three walks vs Eastern Illinois in the OVC Tournament…made the most pinch-hitting appearances with nine for the Gamecocks.
 
(2008) Sat out the season as a redshirt.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Played for John Rushing and David Mote at Tuscaloosa Academy for four years…was an All-State honorable mention as a senior after batting .380 with nine home runs and 40 RBI…named to the Tuscaloosa News West Alabama All-Star team…finished his career batting .400 with 25 home runs and drove in 169 runs…was selected to the AISA All-Star team…also lettered in basketball one year and football for one year…was an honor student, where he was a member of the Beta Club and Mu Alpha Theta…selected Who’s Who Among American High School Students.
 
PERSONAL: Full name is James Michael Davis…son of Michael Larry and Merry Anne Davis…born on June 10, 1989…has one older sister, Christin Michelle… was selected to Phi Eta Sigma Honor Society during freshman year at JSU and served as Vice-President…has a double major in Accounting and Economics at JSU.
