SUMMER BASEBALL: Played for the Tampa Bay Raiders in 2010, where he hit .335 with 23 RBI and one homerun…Played for the Nevada Griffons of the MINK League in 2009…played for the Tampa Bay Raiders in 2008 for Robbie Chavez…hit .347 with two home runs and 20 RBI.

JSU CAREER: (2010) As a junior, saw action in 14 games with seven starts...started five games at designated hitter and two at first base...hit .179 with one double, a home run and four RBI...recorded two hits against Southern Illinois (2/28) and drove in two runs against SIU (2/26)...his home run was a pinch hit home run against Tennessee-Martin (3/27)…was 1-for-4 as a pinch hitter in 2010.

(2009) As a sophomore, played in 27 games and record 13 starts, with eight at 3B and five at DH…batted .204 with one double, one home run and 10 RBI…had his best game of the season when he went 3-for-5 with five RBI and scored four runs vs Alabama State on 3/11…had a pair of hits vs Bradley (3/16) and also the next game vs Hartford on 3/17…(2008) As a true freshman, saw action in 35 games and recorded 17 starts, with 16 at 3B and one at DH…batted .205, with one double, two home runs and 11 RBI…made his collegiate debut on 2/26 vs Millsaps as the DH and earned his first start in the field at College of Charleston on 3/1, going 1-for-4 with one RBI…went 2-for-4 with two runs scored at Alabama on 3/25…also had a pair of hits at Eastern Illinois (4/20) and at UAB (4/22)…slugged his first home run vs SEMO on 4/12…made 10 pinch hitting appearances, the second most on the team…had three multiple-hit games and two multiple-RBI games…had a season-long four-game hitting streak.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for Bob Pagano at Walter L. Sickles High School in Tampa for four years…finished his senior season with a .335 batting average and 30 RBI…was named team Most Valuable Player as a sophomore and finished his career batting .365 with eight homeruns…played summer baseball for Red Raiders and Team Tampa for Chuck Yingling, Robbie Chavez and Pat Russo…led the Red Raiders in batting with a .337 average with 10 RBI and one homerun in the wood bat league in 2007.

PERSONAL: Full name is Matthew Lane McLaughlin…son of Lane McLaughlin and step-mother Denise McLaughlin and Lisa Rabin and step-father Al Rabin…born on March 21, 1989…has two younger brothers, Jeremy and Lukas…his father, Lane, played football at Oregon State, while his mother, Lisa, attended Jax State…lists the Tampa Bay Rays as his favorite major league team…majoring in Political Science at JSU.
