Dr. Will Wright

Dr. Will Wright was hired as the new head strength and conditioning coach at Jacksonville State in January 2025.

Dr. Wright comes to Jax State from the University of Alabama where he served as director of sports science for football, assistant strength coach, and director of sports performance for adapted athletics over the course of seven years. During the 2024 football season, Wright handed all sport science testing and interpretation for the football team and assisted with all football training sessions.

Wright also spent two seasons developing training programs for volleyball while assisting with football sessions and oversaw applied science for Olympic sports.

His role in adapted athletics was believed to be the first such role for a university.
