Garland Wilson enters his second season as the Coordinator of Basketball Operations on James Green’s staff at Jacksonville State.
A JSU graduate in 2009 with a degree in business marketing, Wilson has been around the Gamecock basketball program for almost a decade. He currently handles team travel, equipment and coordinates summer camps for his alma mater.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, he began as a student assistant with Gamecock basketball in 2005-06, when the Gamecocks reached the semifinals of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. He started on Mike LaPlante’s staff and served as a manager and then a graduate assistant on James Green’s staff.
Wilson also served as a student assistant for Jim Case’s Gamecock baseball program from 2007-08, where he helped with some of the day-to-day duties of the team.
Wilson has one son, Caileb.
