Biography

OUTLOOK: Coaches describe her as one of the most rewarding players they’ve been able to coach…came to JSU as a shortstop and moved to right field in her junior year…has worked extremely hard and has become one of the best outfielders in the OVC…takes away hits and extra bases…had a great offensive fall and has the potential to be a top player in the league as a senior.

2008: Appeared in 54 games for the Gamecocks and was in the starting lineup for 48 of them…hit .258 with six doubles, a triple and 15 RBI…committed just one error in right field on the season, and it didn’t come until her 50th game of the year…had three multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 outing against Eastern Kentucky on April 5, a game in which she also drove in three runs…also had three RBI against Georgetown on Feb. 16…scored three runs in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional.

2007: Saw action in 40 games as a sophomore, starting 36, all at shortstop…hit .216 with six doubles, two home runs and 11 RBI…walked 11 times, scored 11 runs and stole three bases on just three attempts…had a .324 slugging percentage and a .261 on base percentage…suffered an injury in the final series of the season, which forced her to miss the OVC Tournament…recorded three hits in a game twice (vs. South Alabama on Feb. 18 and vs. East Tennessee State on Feb. 25)…had a pair of two-hit games (vs. Alabama State on Feb. 11 and at UCF on March 2)…against South Alabama on Feb. 18, was 3-for-4 with a single, double home run and season-high three RBI.

2006: Appeared in 56 of the Gamecocks’ 58 games as a true freshman, while earning the starting nod in 54 games, primarily as the team’s shortstop…tied for fifth on the team with four home runs and drove in 16 runs on the year…tied for the team-lead with two triples…hit .215 with three doubles…was second on the team with six stolen bases in eight attempts…hit .350 against left-handed pitchers…drove in a season-high four runs against Southeast Missouri on May 7, thanks to a 2-for-4 showing that included a triple and a run scored…had a season-high three hits in three at bats against UT Martin on April 30.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played five seasons for head coach Rich Nordyke at Edmond North HS in Edmond, Okla…was a first-team all-state selection in 2004 and a first-team all-district player in both her junior and senior seasons…as a senior, hit .453 with seven home runs and stole 25 bases to lead the Huskies to a 41-2 record…helped ENHS to the class 6A State Title as a junior…was a recipient of the Prestige Ford Player of the Week.

PERSONAL: Born on March 26, 1987, in Oklahoma…the daughter of Mike and Carrie Jarman…has one brother, Michael, who plays baseball at Seward County Community College…her dad Mike played baseball at Oklahoma State…plans to major in Education at JSU.
