Wright begins her second season at JSU in 2022-23, after arriving at Jax State in the summer of 2021 following three successful seasons as an assistant at Florida SouthWestern State College (FSW) in Fort Myers, Florida.
The Gamecocks had an historic outing in the 2022-23 campaign. Pietri, Wright, and the rest of the coaching staff guided Jacksonville State’s women to a Division I program-best 24-8 record. JSU claimed the ASUN West Division title in their first season back in the league and earned a bid to the WNIT, marking the program’s first postseason appearance in Division I competition.
Wright helped lead the Gamecocks to a 16-14 record in 2022-23 as they posted their fourth winning season in the last five years. Their 9-9 mark in ASUN competition served as the sixth consecutive season with a .500 or better record in conference play. Kennedy Gavin, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder, netted selections to the ASUN Conference’s Second-Team All-Conference and Women’s Basketball All-Academic squads. Jax State started the year off hot, breaking program records for points in a game, margin of victory, field goals, and field goals in a half in a 114-33 drubbing of Shorter in the season opener on Nov. 7. Following another successful season against challenging non-conference and conference slates, the Gamecocks once again advanced to the ASUN Tournament in March.
During her tenure at FSW, the Buccaneers won three-straight Suncoast Conference Championships and earned back-to-back bids into the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) national tournament. She recruited and coached three NJCAA All-Americans and saw seven of her athletes move on to Division I programs. Â

In her first season with the Bucs in 2018-19, FSW went 30-4, winning the Suncoast Conference title with an undefeated record and made the program's first appearance in the NJCAA National Tournament, where they advanced to the Sweet 16 round. The Bucs repeated as conference champions the following season finishing 24-7 overall and earned their second-straight berth into the national tournament. Wright coached five players to All-Conference honors that season, including Suncoast Conference Player of the Year Za'Nautica Downs, who also garnered All-State and NJCAA All-American honors. For her efforts, she was named one of four finalists for the World Exposure 2020 NJCAA Assistant Coach of the Year.Â
Her final season in Fort Myers, Fla., concluded with a 13-6 record amid a Covid-19 interrupted season. The Bucs still managed a third-straight conference title with a 6-3 SCC mark.Â
