Jenna Sullivan

Jenna Sullivan was officially announced as the final full-time assistant coach on Derek Schroeder’s first staff at Jacksonville State on July 6, 2023. Sullivan, a former collegiate star with over seven years of NCAA coaching experience, comes to Jacksonville after proven results at previous stops.

Before joining the Gamecock volleyball staff, Sullivan spent five years at Upper Iowa University in Fayette, Iowa. Beginning as an assistant coach before earning a promotion to associate head coach in 2021, she played a large part in the Peacocks’ success since 2018, helping a strong Division II program to a 73-43 record in four competition seasons. With her assistance, UIU achieved their most league wins in program history in 2021 and were consistently ranked in the Top 25. Sullivan coordinated all recruiting efforts at her previous stop, signing 28 student-athletes in six recruiting classes.

Sullivan got her start in college volleyball in 2016 when she took over as an assistant coach at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa, where she helped the Duhawks secure 24 victories in two seasons. Along with her coaching duties at LC, she also served as LC’s Assistant Director of Athletic Communications from Aug. 2016 to Feb. 2018.

In addition to her NCAA coaching experience, Sullivan served as the head coach of the Six Pack Volleyball Club in Cedar Falls, Iowa, from 2020-22 and has been on staff for Iowa High Performance for two years, leading them to first place and third place finishes in the Youth National Division of the Summer Championships.

Jacksonville State’s newest assistant coach played collegiately at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, a Division III institution in Winona, Minn. Sullivan had a very productive career as a Cardinal, posting 487 kills, 597 digs, 54 aces, and 47 blocks from the outside hitter position. She was a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference All-Sportsmanship Team selection in 2012 and was a MIAC Playoff All-Tournament Team honoree in 2014.

A native of Woodbury, Minn., Sullivan earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Saint Mary’s in 2015 and obtained her Master of Sport Administration from Upper Iowa in 2020. She currently resides in Oxford.
