Jordan Coomes joined the Gamecocks coaching staff in 2021, fresh off her playing career at Radford. During her first season at JSU the former setter helped coach the ASUN Setter of the Year, Lexie Libs, one of the all-time great Gamecock setters. Coomes returns to Jax State for her second seaosn in 2022.
The Highlander setter helped RU reach the NCAA Tournament (2017) and NIVC (2018) during her four-year career. The 2018 team's first round win over Appalachian State in the NIVC was the first major postseason victory in program history. Coomes played in 91 total matches where she compiled 658 assists, 493 digs and 72 aces. She graduated from Radford in April with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics.
Coomes will share assistant duties with both the indoor and beach program for the Gamecocks.
